JUST DO IT

Social campaign, 2010

The campaign is aimed at financing and promoting a new feature-length documentary film that follows the mischievous and risky world of UK climate activists.
In early 2009, filmmaker Emily James, allowed unprecedented access, began filming the clandestine activities of several groups of environmental civil disobedient activists in the UK.
Currently in post-production and coming to distribution in early 2011, Just Do It is a film pushing boundaries. It is an experiment in crowd-funding, group production and community-engaged documentary filmmaking.

TRANCEMEDIA.EU/Screen :
A REVIEW OF INTERACTIVE FACTUAL CONTENT, FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO REDISCOVER REALITY,  THROUGH NEW MEDIA.

Why - We all need a trance back to reality. Reviewing transmedia, interactive factual content is a great way to show the innovations that are affecting the culture industry and to give meaning to digital convergence and the new means of producing  non-fiction. Building awareness, both about reality through the media and the reality of new media, is the first step to innovation; from here we can build future content.

What - What you find here are reviews and links to selected interactive-and-factual achievements from all around the world. The content originates from a range of sources: transmedia audiovisual producers, independent press agencies, established publishers, large institutions as well as informal garage teams. Film, still photos, graphic works and sounds —all that our users and our team have found either inspirational or informational, but at any rate useful to know about for those who work in the convergent content industries. It's a beginning: taxonomy, as well as tagging, are liable to change.

Who - You don't need to be in the media business to enjoy the screenings; curiosity about reality and its representations is all you need. If you work in media — film or publishing or communication — the website can help you cut time in your search for this type of content.

How - The Trancemedia.eu database grows steadily every day. You can consult all the content in the homepage and make searches with no restrictions. Use the tag clouds and the search tool to look for specific themes and formats. You can consult the content proposed in the other pages by registering. Please note that the Studio area is a co-operative tool dedicated to media companies and professionals.

When - Trancemedia.eu/Screen is updated daily, its homepage is thus continuously changing.  The search functions will help you find something you may not find in the same location as the last time you consulted.

Where - We work from Turin, the first cinema-industry city in the world, with colleagues from all over the world.

With whose help – We thank all our users who send us suggestions; all producers and authors who indicate their accomplishments to us; all the visitors who scold us for a mistake. Each of you is welcome to help. Each help will be acknowledged.

We apologize for any technical difficulties you may encounter (and thank you for pointing them out to us at info@trancemedia.eu): Trancemedia is under construction.

See you soon at www.trancemedia.eu --- make a note of the address and pass it on!
