REINVENTION STORIES is an experiment in bringing real-life documentary stories into the potential of an interactive environment. Through residents' personal stories, through stories about places and events in the city, the web site follows the struggles and resurgence of Dayton, Ohio, defined by Forbes Magazine in 2008 as “one of the fastest dying cities in the nation”, and encourages internauts to make contributions, ask and answer questions. Director Tommy Pallotta:  “We crafted a multitasking and multi-linear experience and we blended genres like animation, documentary, fiction and interactivity all together in one story. This hybrid approach allows us to look at a serious documentary subject, but also to shift from the usual talking head approach to something that better reflects our time.”
The goal is to attract a different (and younger) audience than traditional documentary viewers.
